Morningside Early Childhood Learning Centre

Kindergarten is an important time for young children, helping them to prepare for school by developing strong social skills, improving health and well-being and encouraging a love of learning. Our Long Day Care, Morningside Kindergarten Program offers the same government approved Kindergarten Programs as community kindergartens. Here are five important considerations when deciding where to send your child to kindergarten:

1. Convenience of Longer Hours

Kindergarten in Long Day Care is just so much more convenient. Children attending Puss In Boots Morningside Kindergarten can be dropped off at any time during our opening hours, 6.30am – 5.55pm, making a less stressful day for working families. Community kindergartens are more traditional with very short days that have a set drop off and pick up time. We are open 50 weeks a year, community kindergartens close over all school holidays.

2. The Teachers Have the Same Qualifications

Miss Tracy who runs the Kindergarten Program is required to have a government approved qualification, which in her case is a Bachelors Degree of Teaching & Learning. This means the children at Puss in Boots are getting the same education from a qualified school teacher as they would at a community kindergarten. We believe the measure of a quality kindergarten is not whether it is part of a Long Day Care Centre or a community kindergarten, it is the quality of the teacher and the program they provide. Miss Tracy is  one of the owners of Puss in Boots, a member of the Early Childhood Association and the Morningside State School P&C.

3. Social Development

Children starting out in child care centre are enrolled as a group and usually move from room to room together. So sometimes children can have the same peers from starting at Puss In Boots as a baby through to their Kindergarten year. This can make their social services development a little bit easier.

4. Convenience for Younger Siblings

Younger siblings can attend the same Morningside Child Care Centre, meaning no need for extra drop offs at different locations. This makes for a much smoother morning routine!

5. Meals & Food Provided

At Puss In Boots Morningside Kindergarten all lunches and fruit for morning and afternoon tea is provided. This eliminates having to prepare packed lunches each day, and you also know all meals are prepared on site and meet nutritional guidelines! At community kindergartens, families normally need to prepare their child’s lunch and snacks each day.

Summary

Puss in Boots Kindergarten program and teacher qualifications are the same as community kindergartens. So when choosing where to send your child, we recommend the kindergarten that is the most convenient and that works best for him or her.
